Irrigation and Sprinkler Pump Repair

Your irrigation pump is the engine that drives your sprinkler system. When it fails, your lawn and landscape stop getting water. Brent Pump Works repairs, replaces, and installs irrigation pumps and sprinkler pumps for residential and commercial properties across Martin, St. Lucie, and Palm Beach counties.

Irrigation Pump Types We Service

Centrifugal irrigation pumps that draw water from a well or surface source and push it through the sprinkler system. Submersible irrigation pumps installed inside the well. Booster pumps that increase pressure from a low-pressure source. Sprinkler pumps that are dedicated to residential lawn irrigation systems. We service all brands and sizes.

Troubleshooting

Common Irrigation Pump Problems

The Pump Will Not Prime

Centrifugal pumps need to be primed (filled with water) before they can operate. A leaking foot valve, a cracked suction line, or a bad check valve can prevent the pump from holding its prime.

Low Pressure from the Pump

A worn impeller, a clogged intake, or an air leak in the suction side can reduce output pressure and leave your sprinkler system underperforming.

The Pump Runs but No Water Comes Out

This can indicate a lost prime, a broken impeller, or a stuck check valve.

The Motor Hums but Does Not Start

A failed capacitor, a seized bearing, or an electrical issue. In many cases, this is a repair, not a replacement.

Excessive Vibration or Noise

Worn bearings, a damaged impeller, or cavitation from running the pump with insufficient water supply.

Our Approach

Repair vs. Replacement

Irrigation pumps are mechanical. Parts wear out. A new capacitor, a replaced seal, or a rebuilt impeller can extend the life of a pump for years. We repair what can be repaired and replace only when the pump is beyond cost-effective repair. When replacement is the right call, we size the new pump to match your irrigation system's flow and pressure requirements.

The Connection Between Pump, Well, and Sprinklers

If your sprinkler system is running off a well, three systems are working together: the well, the pump, and the sprinklers. A problem in any one of them affects the others. We service all three, so if your sprinkler pressure is low, we can determine whether the issue is the pump, the well, or the sprinkler system itself. One company, one service call.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why will my sprinkler pump not prime?

The most common causes are a leaking foot valve, a crack in the suction line, or a bad check valve. Any air leak on the suction side prevents the pump from building the vacuum it needs to pull water. We diagnose and repair the specific cause.

Should I repair or replace my irrigation pump?

If the motor is sound and the problem is a seal, impeller, or capacitor, repair is usually the right choice. If the motor is burned out and the pump is older, replacement is often more cost-effective. We will give you a straight recommendation.

How much does irrigation pump repair cost?

It depends on the problem. A capacitor or seal replacement costs significantly less than a full pump replacement. We diagnose first and provide an estimate before starting work. Call 888-493-0984.
